I experienced an
Arctic Caribou Hunt in August 2008. What an experience! I am
graciously giving my highest recommendation to Ultimate Arctic
Adventures & the Thoft family. My arctic caribou hunt was a
thrill of a lifetime. The Thoft camp is top notch. The fixed
camp is very comfortable and has all the comforts of home. It
was very much appreciated, to come in off the wet tundra, to a
clean, dry, warm comfortable bunk, with food to match. It is
located in one of the most pristine; beautiful spots in the
world-on the banks of the Ivishak River. With the camp location
and all the comforts, it is certainly not an arctic survival
trip. A person of any age or physical makeup could have a
successful hunt from this spot. Not only does it have great
hunting opportunities, but also the fishing was awesome. The
Ivishak is full of Grayling and Char. I am definitely looking
forward to another stay as soon as possible. Many thanks to Bob
& Susie for a wonderful trip!
I had the opportunity to
experience Ultimate Arctic Adventures in August of 2007.This is
the place to truely get away from it all! The adventures are
yours to create.Watch the sun rise and set with a turn of your
head. The camp is remote, but has all the comforts of home. It's
relaxing, quiet, layed back, yet the wilds of the Alaskan tundra
are right out the door step.Great scenery, pristine arctic
air, photo opportunities and wild life are just some of the
enjoyments.I took it to the limit that started as a simple
hike, and ended as an over night caribou hunt, bringing a fine
caribou bull into camp.Fishing the Ivashak River and finding
fossilized sea worms are an added bonus.I definitely look
forward to more adventures with Ultimate Arctic Adventures.

I spent a month in the Arctic at Bob's lodge, located on the
Ivaschak River. The dorm-style lodging was comfortable woth oil,
heat, & lights. The food was homestyle cooking, which was tasty
and plentiful.
The wildlife in the the vicinity was unbelievable. I saw a
number of Grizzlies, huge moose, fox, otters, weasels, and
hundreds upon hundreds of caribou. The hardest part of filling
your tags is deciding which one to shoot and how soon do you
want your hunt to end. Not to worry though, the Char and
Grayling fishing is fantastic!
The whole experience (the scenery, the location, hunting, and
fishing) is something everyone should do at least once in their
life. I wanted an Arctic adventure and Bob gave me what I paid
for.
